Job Description
A Certified Peer Specialist is needed for the new Community Support Team (CST Team). The active team assists clients who have a severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI) and co-occurring substance abuse disorders.

Job Duties:
*Will have experience as a recipient of mental health services for severe and persistent mental illness and willing to use and share his/her personal, practical experience and knowledge to benefit the team and its clients. The peer specialist is fully integrated into the team to provide expertise about the recovery process, symptom management and their persistence requires by clients to have a satisfying life.

*Peer Specialist is responsible to maximize client choice, self-determination and decision making in the panning delivery and evaluation of treatment, rehabilitation and support services.
*Will provide peer counseling and consultation to individual clients, families and team staff.
*Will be part of the on call clinical treatment team and will rotate 24 hour on-call duties with team members.

Minimum Qualifications:

*Must have a strong commitment to the right and ability of each person with a sever and persistent mental illness to live in normal community residences, work in job markets, and have access to helpful, adequate, competent and continuous support services.
*Must have self knowledge to manage their mental illness and be well along in their recovery.
*Must be willing to take rotating 24 hour on-call duties.

Certified Peer Specialist (CPS)/CARES - 21,600.00
Is a certified peer specialist and has less than two years experience in working with individuals with a SPMI diagnosis.

CPS/CARES Level 2 - 28,434.18
Bachelor's Degree in a human services area and Certified Peer Specialist designation

CPS/CARES Level 3 - 32,331.29
Bachelor's Degree in a human services area and Certified Peer Specialist designation with one year experience at the level of Certified Peer Specialist or a position with similar duties. OR one year experience at the SST -2 level with Certified Peer Specialist designation

*Motor Vehicle Report required on all employees who transport clients.
Applicants must not have six (6) or more points against their driver's license or a suspended or revoked driver's license within the last five (5) years.

*An on-call pay stipend has been included in the advertised salaries.
